The Englyn (plural englynion) is a traditional Welsh and Cornish short poem form. There are eight types of englynion. This is the Englyn unodl union, or "straight one-rhymed englyn," which differs from the Englyn milwr found in Poetry Soup's definition. The Englyn ungodly union consists of four lines of ten, six, seven and seven syllables. The sixth, seventh, eighth or ninth syllable of the first line introduces the rhyme and this is repeated on the last syllable of the other three lines. The last half of the first line after the rhyme alliterates (or rhymes) with the first half of the second line.

Moms and Daughters-In-Law
Mom’s words cut like a knife, honed razor sharp
Which shattered my new wife
Mom now, after years of strife
Says I married up in life!
