Mom Knew

My dear sweet friends of the Soup Thought I'd let you in on a little secret It's all about life and love and happy stuff But mostly it's about love You know... that stuff you've craved Ever since you discovered for the very first time Mary was quite different She had stuff you didn't have And you had stuff she didn't have Suddenly she wasn't one of the guys anymore She was kinda like your sister but different VERY VERY different Now every time you look at her You still wanted to wrestle BUT Somehow it felt quite different Hard to explain but it was now okay If she ended up on top! In fact let's be honest here you let her 'win' Actually you thought to yourself YEE HAW! I lost BUT I won! Now when it was time to go in for dinner You didn't feel like eating Mom wondered why You wanted to go to bed early Mom wondered why You brushed your teeth without urging Mom wondered why Mom didn't really wonder why Mom knew!

fascinating, sweet Jack. Mother's typically have great instincts. I loved the unfolding of the story reaching the crescendo in the last three lines. Perfect. When growing up I truly believed that my mother had eyes in the back of her head...the things she saw and knew amazed me. Have a great Sunday, hugs & blessings, Sara

Oh this is intriguing: mothers always know somehow, and youve written very well about mary. Especially in the lines “ She was kinda like your sister but different“ its not easy for some when they feel like they are different and they know they are seen different too. Very well written and delivered
