Misti
As I lie in bed alone
the moon shines through the window.
There’s a sound of feet sliding
through the hallway softly gliding.
I sense a touch of lavender scent
something so sweet, heaven sent.
As she sings, I hear the wind and rain
and as I ask, she sings it again and again.
She’s the sweetest woman I met in my life
and in my dreams, I’ve made her my wife.
From her arises my poems and timeless verse
a constellation of stars, my universe.
But when the morning greets the sun
a long weary day has begun.
