Misti

As I lie in bed alone
the moon shines through the window.
There’s a sound of feet sliding
through the hallway softly gliding.
I sense a touch of lavender scent
something so sweet, heaven sent.
As she sings, I hear the wind and rain
and as I ask, she sings it again and again.
She’s the sweetest woman I met in my life
and in my dreams, I’ve made her my wife.
From her arises my poems and timeless verse
a constellation of stars, my universe.
But when the morning greets the sun
a long weary day has begun.

This is such a beautifully written sonnet Mike. The reader gets drawn in. It flows so well with great rhyme and the volta is very poignant. Reality kicks in again when the morning has arrived. A great sonnet that I really enjoyed. Thank you for sharing :)

oh Mike . I think you are single; otherwise you would have made me believe you have this wonderful partner for a wife. Hope you are having a nice day

Mike, I hope you find someone like you are dreaming of! Sweet people are the best to be around! Sorry for any heartache you are feeling. Hang in there--she's out there somewhere!!!!
