Missing You
Whenever I would see you,
my face would light up.
I would no longer be blue.
Elation would fill my cup.
Many nights I slept comfortably,
cuddled in your arm.
You always shielded me
from adversity and any harm.
You would always be around.
A true companion I had found.
In both good times, and in rough,
You were with me all the while.
Not even my biggest smile,
could ever say enough.
I cried to you in my worst pain.
Only you kept me from going insane.
Bad times changed into fun and laughter.
Now, it is you I can no longer run after.
During these passing days, it kills me.
Without you, I face adversity.
Being so close yet so far away,
Thoughts of you dwell in my heart each day.
It shall seem as if heaven sent.
I know it will not be permanent.
However, we must soon be together again.
I become so excited thinking of when
that day will come where I will hold you.
Now it seems distant and overdue.
I will touch you, caress you, and kiss you.
Until that day,
to you I must say,
always remember how much I love and miss you.
