Mine To Behold

I held those days in the palm of my hand. They were mine to behold, to keep. Youth was mine to keep forever I thought, summers came and went, as I dragged through my teen years. Day finally came to leave home, finding life not so grand as I thought it would be, wishing I could have those years back, would have made better plans. written 4-23-11

Took the words right out of my mouth. Let's face it - we are in company with, probably, 90% of the world's population. There is the old joke about - the other day the world's three most perfect humans were talking, and I said to the other two. Love, daver

James you are my kind of poet ,I seem to love everything I read of yours. We all should stop and think of the young and free days , they have passed too quickly. Great poem. Anne.

James, I too wish I could go back and plan better for my later years. This is probably true for many of us. As teens we think youth will last forever. Then, suddenly, we are older than most of the people with whom we come in contact. Where did the years go? Very thought-provoking write. Love and blessings, Carolyn

Enjoyed reading your work..Most of people in America probably would have made better plans and laid a better foundation for life but we can't go back forward is the only direction..Your mistake or your writing about this mistake could help another to set goals and make better plands..Your kind review of my work was uplifting..Sara
