"Whose woods these are I think I know" - Robert Frost
~
So soft and silent 'midst the forest keep
Awaits the drawing comfort of the night
And tho' I've many burdens yet undone
My marrow aches for quietude and sleep
Oh numberless the meadows I have met
In passions with a lass to tease the sun
Yet all those summer suns arose to cast
A shadowed kiss to Autumn as they set
Now fall has fallen winter brings me here
To contemplate the seasons of my past
And laid before me lovely dark and deep
The woody realm of slumber I hold dear
This place is all of life - to dusk from dawn
I long to see its curtain now withdrawn
For there awaiting me when life is gone
The sweet soft bed ... I'll lay my head upon.
