Midsummer - Dusk To Dawn
MIDSUMMER – DAWN TO DUSK
Out the window
Well past the stalking hours
There is a stillness with whispered promise
Through the trees a street light loses prominence
The green Goliath still sleeps
Old roses hang together bonded by dew
And the new bravely greet dawn
What in the noontime blaze comes singing left right
above places
Questioning origin of the Sun?
All stirs together – wood flesh steel
The fickle sky revealing then concealing
A vapor trail at heavenly height
Breathless relaxed by necessity one survives
This the true hour of contemplation
And at one point a glimpse beyond
Sinking
A natural consequence when fires burn low
The pilgrim walks slowly steadily west
Another question –
What was that all about?
