Midnight Romance
Beneath a charcoal sky as midnight falls
Smoke rising up from autumn's burning leaves
Where crimson vines entwine on garden wall
Surrounding figures carved from ivory
Angel made of stone draped in absinthe moss
Sits abreast a porcelain pedestal
Obsidian eyes reflecting the loss
Of this cerulean man by the well
A girl dressed in sable, the night they met
On a so long ago midnight like this
This place that knows, every tear he has wept
Dreaming again of that first blissful kiss
Those years long ago, her face all aglow
Now, as he sprinkles, the ashes of 'Rose'
