Metal Gods and Grass Birds

Their God first came into view during WW2 when a giant metal bird came from heaven gifting them toys and shiny costume jewelry colorful clothes and manna called C rations. For some time when the bird Gods arrived most cheered while others bowed and cried but war was waning and treaties were signed their bird God never again appeared in the sky- For years after, they wove giant grass birds to honor a God who'd forever deserted them To this day their descendants fondly remember the fantastic fables their elders once rendered,, of a God that descended from the blue heavens gifting them shiny toys and flashing star makers today the forest children still make tiny grass birds wishing a heavenly bird God to nest on the earth-
