Men
MEN
Men come in many shapes and sizes;
Masquerade in different guises.
Some are short; some have great height.
Some are fat while some are slight.
Some are bald, some have long hair.
These things are neither here nor there.
Some men are rich and some are poor.
(You’re better with the ones with more)
Some, though reliable and true,
And loyal to you your whole life through,
Can bore you silly, drive you mad.
You only have to look at Dad.
But some are charming, witty too
And make you think there’s only you.
They’ll wine you, dine you, dance all night.
Tell you you’re their heart’s delight.
But though, my dear, men can be fun.
Take my advice; don’t marry one!
Note:
Having been writing poetry for almost seventy years I have finally got around to publishing my first book, a collection of humorous verse called “Laugh? …I Wish You Would”. It is an e-book available from Amazon. All the proceeds go to my local hospice.
