tattered and worn curtains
shut to keep out the cold
and on the floor is an old faded flower carpet
as an electric heater is wheezing heat
on a cold winter night
and I, in my cozy bed with many blankets
hugging my teddy bear ...
this is a memory of my attic room
at the top of our house in winter
