Memories of You

I treasure the memories of your guidance,
Your gentle advice, always aware of my feelings.
You took the place in my heart of my absent father.
You always said I was the daughter you never had
but always longed for, and you were the father I wanted.

You taught me the importance of casting my vote
As I became eligible to vote, so many years ago.
I learned about finances from your successful endeavors,
How to make the most of the money I earned, how to save.

Your encouragement and love helped me seek my goals
To attain the lofty career of my choice through diligent work.
I glowed with pride as you walked me down the aisle.
Your integrity, loyalty and faithfulness was a shining example
Of the kind of person I wanted to pattern my life after.

I know the angels sent you to me in answer to my prayers.
You have passed on many years ago, yet I still revere your
Presence in my life every day because your spirit lives on
And I speak to you as you continue to guide me.
You would be 100 this year, and I celebrate your lasting love.

This is obviously a poetic tribute very personal to yourself, Connie...I can tell at a glance just how incredibly important this very special person is to you; suffice to say that this really is a most wonderful portrait of a most wonderful soul. Beautifully contrived...it truly is lovely writing. My warmest and most heartfelt regards. Your friend. :) john

He was the father I never had. I admired him so much I made sure all of my children were born near his birth date. All three were born two days apart in the first week of November. I feel as though he has never left me. Thank you for such I lovely insightful comment John. xxoo

Thank you so much Paul. I had just turned sixteen when he came into my life. He was a Scorpio which is why I made sure all my children were born as close as possible to his birthday. They were all born the first week of November. Mele Kalikimaka! xxoo
