Memorial Day Ceremony

Death knell sounds over our village green For all the veterans who eternally lie, Whose presence will never again be seen Because on foreign fields they had to die, We continue to ask, “What does it mean?” So young and bold they were taken away From family and friends to fight in vain In battles so unnecessary, a waste I say, Today we, left behind, still feel the pain At another ceremony on Memorial Day.

A very honorable tribute to those who've served their country. That's a far cry from those who bash it today.

Yep, it is, Jenna. I salute those who gave their lives for our democratic rights.

Sadly wars are sometimes necessary but all avenues must be explored before a shot is fired. But as we see today there are some you just can't reason with. God rest all the brave servicemen and women who keep us safe, but for their brave sacrifice things could be a lot different. Tom
