Melancholy Memories

Melancholy Memories ( A Collaboration) I walk along the narrow precipice, so close to the edge trying to remember the ones I love and keep them near, grasping to hold on to them before I fall from the ledge. Their strength gives me comfort. I will not yield to fear. Cherished memories of my past keep me stable and alert. Moments shared, things we said, serve as my safety rope. I swear to be relentless in my fight to never feel the hurt of emotional pains and drains. Love is my greatest hope. I've been walking on life's journey, loved ones at my side, Each step taken has been a new chapter, honestly penned. Tears of joy and laughter, and of sorrows I've often cried, but I'm guided by the light of those upon whom I depend. My melancholy memories are tonic to my heart and mind. To them I cling tightly so I'll never leave my past behind. ~ ~ ~ May my soul never bow to darkest fear and deep regret or cower to the darkness that sends me its great pains. I will hold onto love's great treasures and never forget, the love, depth and beauty of my long life's sweet gains. I fear not my untimely losses and later any sad good-bye, for life gave its treasures and blessings so very deep, that I hold not enough tears for such a massive, great cry. Light defends me against darkness however slow it may creep. A great ending may follow my sojourn in this dark cave- For my heart now embraces life and its promised reward, for the faith and forgiveness that our dear Lord gave, steels my resolve, although the losses may be very hard! My walk will be down a long dark corridor that engulfs me. Yet Light and faith will be reward as my soul flies away free! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ January 10th, 2016 Collaboration of Lin Lane and Robert J.
