Me
ME…
“A man said to the universe,
Sir, I exist.”
You ripped me
from the continental vault
of my mother’s womb
You aborted my freedom
and anointed yourself
with the blood
You aroused yourself
with psychotic pleasure
profit and demonic power
from the laboring pains
issued upon me
You made me
the human tragedy
you made me
the human comedy
God made me
black and comely---
the essence of His beauty
the recurring decimal
of your conscience:
You now
fear me
