As in the garden of wild dreams I wander, Appreciatively the night blooms I gander. Awash in lustrous moonbeams on scented paths, I listen to frogs croak in nighttime baths. The sinuous twists bring me to a green maze, A handsome reminder of landscape glory days! Inside the leafy jade wall a puzzle is hidden, But from prior joy struggle has come unbidden. I am twisting and turning through the night, With no other friend but glittering starlight. Lost in dreaming darkness once so caressing, And trapped to hear lovely night birds sing!

One thing for sure: This is not the 'maize' which the Englishmen thanked the Native Americans for!!… Interesting theme, Evelyn! Happy Sunday evening and Monday! :) Gershon

Thank you, Gershon. Happy Monday to you, too (though Sunday's gone)! This poem is an entry in the Maze contest, which is where I got the theme. Corn is my favorite vegetable. Best wishes, Evelyn :)
