Maybe You Said It To the Moon

Maybe You Said it to the Moon Maybe you said it to the moon maybe you shouted it to the stars above maybe you wrote it in the sand but did your really touch anybody’s hand? Maybe you don’t know where the river flows but when you take someone’s hand, you can hear an echo rebound within your heart loud and clear and then a starry symphony does suddenly glow. Maybe you blew it in the wind maybe you drummed it all over the rooftops maybe you tossed it in the waves but did you seize a chance and then dared to dance? And when you close your eyes is there the soft brush of a lone shooting star? A promised touch did you suddenly feel like a raindrop of sunshine coming from afar? Maybe you said it to the moon maybe you shouted it to the stars maybe you wrote it in the sand maybe you blew it in the wind . . . But did you ever say the words? Were you ever willing to dance? Did you ever really take a chance? Were you willing to change a life? back to the beginning (lyric – you can sing along as you listen to Yiruma’s piano piece)

A very talented write. "And when you close your eyes is there the soft brush of a lone shooting star?" Lines like these are why I read poetry.

Thank you James and let me tell you again here how I absolutely loved "To the Stars", that was a very talented write that made me question the boundaries not just of the written word, but of the page, and of the letters themselves. Now, James, imagine your poem on a canvas, the size of Picasso's Guernica . . . wouldn't it be an incredible art piece?

great writing as usual Anne-Marie. Thanks for being a mensch. And for music. Peace

Oh Anne-Marie. You are amazing and beautiful not to mention talented. And yes, I am speaking solely on your lyrics themselves. They are so very reflective touching gentle and more. Your words can make a reader look within. That is a plus. Thank you for sharing this exquisite piece. It was an honor turning to your page this morning. Well done in its entirety. Honestly

Lisa, you always say the kindest of things; thank you for all your wonderful comments and your support. It's still odd to look at the lyrics all by themselves for me and I figured out that it is probably due to the fact that I dive into the music and let it take me wherever it goes, so how could I possibly swim without water?

I really loved this Anne-Marie, and I applaud you from here, do you hear it? I would love you to tell Kay that apart from co-writing the lyrics, I would like to see her sing along too. That would make her exclaim louder I think? Brilliant and a Big 7

Maria, you are so nice! Actually, she bailed out in tears today after listening to Tim's request and trying to read the lyrics I put on it . . . she never got to finish it. I'm trying to give her a good 24 hour 'poetry free' respite, but I'm sure your clever suggestion is gonna bring out some interesting expletive:)

https://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/eternity_in_his_mind_890193.... Since you ask :D With this poem, I've used a piece of Einaudi, whom i adore. And I've been thinking to write lyrics to it myself. But I simply don't have the time nor the energy at the moment. I'd love to see you write lyrics to it (or to one of his scores for the films "Intouchables" ou "Amélie") :)

Les Intouchables is one of my favourite films. While I was in bed, unable to do anything else, I watched it three times in a row LOL, because it makes me feel good and it's at the same time to touching and hilarious :)... Ohhhh, and you are wonderful for writing a poem, I will be looking forward to it <3

Darren, I've been working on 'les Intouchables' . . . it's almost finished. I didn't know whether or not you had seen that incredible movie, but I thought you would love it. I wrote a poem though, not lyrics, and it is dedicated to you. I will put it out there tomorrow w/Einaudi's piece in the background:)

Thank you so very much Broken Wings for your wonderful review. When the music inspires me it goes pretty smoothly and I like it a lot more than writing poems because I love to sing.

What Chris said, in fact every word he said I agree with. I love these lyrics, it'sabsolutely beautiful and I can sing it in my head even without the music of Yiruma :)

Wow Tim, I absolutely love "Song From A Secret Garden". Thank you, thank you, it was an incredible discovery . . . and I will definitely honor this request. But my goodness, when the violin starts playing, I start crying . . . fear not though that's a disease I've been afflicted with since forever, and I grew up with 2 brothers who toughened me up some:)

Anne Marie, you have done it again, you have completely amazed me with your wonderful poetic lyrics. I did listen and sing along (in my head) and oh my, mesmerized is how I felt. Your lyrics are so beautiful and enchanting. I would love to hear your words performed to this music somewhere other than in my mind. You are an outstanding and incredible talent my friend. Thank you for this inspirational piece. Even without the music it is euphoric.

Thank you so very much my friend for your enthusiastic support. Yiruma opened a door for me I didn't even know was there and I have been uncertain about my ability to put lyrics to other composers' works, so thank you again for your very kind supportive words and your inspiring poetry:)
