May I Always Remember
being possessed by thoughts of healing myself,
apparitions of fear line the walls and floors; and I am left…
haunted
phantom of the night, hear my plea-
cease the pain;
a plague crept and I am left breathless trying to hold onto memories
I pray one day I don’t forget-
my mind can’t recall yesterday’s joy, nor will embrace tomorrow’s woe
because it won’t be remembered
-it’s complicated - I’m frustrated - feeling weak - mind can’t speak-
worry encompasses leaving me in the dark; and I am left…
haunted
please Lord help me hold onto these precious moments
how can I breathe knowing one day...
I may not recognize him
*I am haunted one day I will get dementia*
