Man of Mars

Such is a sorrow sculpted of sunstone, Immortalised with studious refrain, Tragedy, still, in beautiful atone, Exuding light from a languish of pain. Young Venus, I be, suspended in fear, What puissance can relieve me of this strife, Oh Man of Mars, with this heart appear, In freedom, I find, forever your wife. Shine, shine on the first carnations of spring, Give impoverished love an even chance, To the church! For in marriage, we must sing! No longer is this deemed a doomed romance. My affection is yours, husband of mine… With our vows carved out, the planets align.
