Making It Great In 2008 (Part 23): Come Before Winter
It's been a good year and now Autumn has passed
and Paul, a servant leader of Christ had given his last
winter is on the horizon and Paul's season was about to end
so he wrote a letter to Timothy and mentioned all of his friends
Paul had come to realize that time waits for no one
he understood that his time on earth was about to be done
come before winter he wrote to his fellow Christians
come before winter so I may see you all again
he had fought the good fight, he had finished the course and stayed true to his faith
he had came through all his trials and tribulations with God's saving grace
it was his final season and in the spirit he had lived
he testified about the goodness of God and the cause to which he did give
when you walk in the spirit, when you're in step with Christ
you'll be more aware of the seasons and the purpose of your life
Paul was most perceptive of his imminent departure from this world
so he penned a letter to his dear fiends from the confines of his prison cell
to Timothy, to Luke and to Mark he wrote these words
to tell them about spiritual warfare and the lessons he had learned
he cautioned them to stay diligent on the Christian battlefield
and to come before winter as his time was about to yield
It was a few good friends that he most wanted to see
fellow brothers and sisters in Christ true disciples of Christianity
it was a few good friends whom had always given him support
and always had his back in whatever spiritual battle he had fought
he also named some people who at one time had did him a wrong
and said that God would repay them for their actions before long
come before winter, come before it's too late
to fight the good fight and possess a true faith
come before winter and please don't hesitate
just stay the course by making it great in 20008
