Make It Count

line count and word number are equal in this selection....

"Make It Count"
by: Eric L. Boddie

A
Man may
Come to play
But if you say
Oh no baby, not today
Do you think he would stay
Or would he go so far away
In search of another lover he could lay
Doing everything associated with rolling in that infamous hay
And if push came to shove, maybe he would pay
To relieve all the stress stemming from your hips' distant sway
Because something must give, there are more than fifty shades of gray
That's common knowledge to the freaks and all those upon which they prey
And once you learn them all, I promise your lover will never ever stray
But if you miss just a single one, then you may experience that dreadful day
Where you lose it all so try to find True Love and remember to always Pray

Great format--When placed this way, line length, rhyme, word count, etc., are all important to the ultimate chosen structure of the poem. Great insight! Terrific read.

Hello, Eric, with a good spirit. Like I~ How nice it is to meet another Libra. Like I! ... I'm here enjoying your poem. Make it count. It's almost a heartache. When it's too late to make it and break it. I have a sweet love, who I love even more, in these moments. We did part, for the moment. However, our visions are together, he and I are true. No reason to play, when the other is away. The will of one will only STRAY if it was not meant to be. Enjoyed the poem.... LINDA

Eric, admire the form and the words of advice, the phrase, make it count reminds me of the movie Titanic, Jack said that to Rose referring to life and thanks for visiting my poetry with wonderful comments

that's the Beauty of poetry....it touches each of us differently and independently....I named it make it count because the word count for each line is one more than the previous like simple counting....but thank you for your kind words bw....;)
