Lurking Dimness
Sky above crimson and spotted like a lantern fly
After the setting of the sun inspired to
pull out a fan bush and dabble
Hastily dash away at the canvas of its vexing black yonder
Illuminated only by the faint flecks of
the soul’s perpetual outer fortress
Speckle happy trees to shield from the heaviness of invasive inner thoughts
Among the foliage looms shadows that wander with bright yellow eyes
Rustles in the wind unseen; yet its presence is known to prickle
Use fiery red mixing of paint to blot out
the tingling yearning of pervasive darkness
Deep within its dark green forest canopy
Secretly relish to diminish all longing of sanctity
Lurks within mediums to stop the feverishly shiver that crawls hot beneath the skin
Slick onyx rivers reflecting the moonlight’s ominous embedded bleakness
Threatens to evade and scramble the furnace’s bestowed eternal light
Furiously rock until calm and armed with only the astonishing passion of poetry
Showering it’s gifts of dripping scattered meteorites of glistening premise
Shedding luminous hope to starry eyes
Bitterly inhale chilly lines of the jumbled past to exhale hungrily the dazzling quiet art wonder
Of a life that does not go simply into the night
