Lover's Quarrel

A LOVER’S QUARREL Love clashes Love squelched Love scorched Talk it out Is what your mind meant Why can’t he understand How does a face turn that red A plump face towering over me Follow me Through A maze Of twisted words That’s NOT what I meant Boo hoo in tissue He doesn’t love me anymore Stare at the stranger in the mirror With tangled hair Crimson cheeks – the unfair kind The hours tick slowly Unanswered phone calls Slamming doors Love is sad Love’s defeated This is not the real world talk it out Sorrys exchanged Carry battle scars Love feels a little better Wipes her eyes, blows her nose Two pairs of lips makeup 2/28/2017
