Love Will Always Win
Surrendering innocence
lust; acquiesces to sin.
Fueling fledgling feelings;
convinced love will always win.
You revel in the pleasures
inflated egos conceive.
Yet, wooed by convincing lies,
you find emotions deceive.
And it hurts to play the dunce,
watching your dreams fall apart.
But it is not the first time
sadness has broken your heart.
Somewhere between frowns and smiles
is a place where doubts take shape.
There, they can drive you to tears,
seeking a means of escape.
Praying for help from above,
you concede you've made mistakes.
And yet, still longing for love,
desire suddenly awakes.
