deep sigh ... expels sadness picture window filled with city lights, waltzing the park trundles out below like a black tongue, tasting ... lights there, too, scattered like fireflies 'til they meld into more sparkled structure breast of metropolis, bejeweled dangling upward to tickle heaven i oft' take it for granted but it steals breath ... when considered enough to help me forget, briefly ... your empty champagne glass on the table our song, haunting me delicately the cigarette with lipstick stains sputtering its last like the night ... like us. ~ 3rd Place ~ in the "Strand Choice H, Any Form, Any Theme" Poetry Contest, Brian Strand, Judge & Sponsor.

Another great evocative write from the Bard; love the arc from city lights to a love-light gone dark. Also the line "the park trundles out below like / a black tongue, tasting ..." I see that in the pic. Congrats on your win ~ John

I really like this one too, Greg. Sorry I do not see more of your poetry. Just never any time. I like how this one was patterned and ended with the short lines. The ending to this was so perfect.
