Love That Is Lost

Seeking love that I may never find. It may not be meant for me. Loneliness may deny me peace of mind. Accepting that it will be, what it will be. A heart broken by love that is lost, one expected to last forever. How to know at what cost? That love's tender ties would sever. It is not living alone, it is feeling it inside. I did not want the pain to show. These emotions had to be denied. Realizing it, and then letting it go. A heart needs protection, beware of how much. Don't let a cold heart turn to stone. Yearning for another's gentle touch, Weary of being alone. Love shared a second time around. Is something that I want to know. It may come softly, not making a sound. Embracing it, I will not let it go.

Yes, embrace love if given a second chance! I know what happens if you don't. The loneliness is unbearable. I'm going to print out this one and read it when I feel lonely. Beautifully written, Sandra. Hugs, Carolyn
