love on strings

a puppet on strings, manipulated and tossed, my worth disregarded. foolishly I gave, trust, love, and all my essence, now stripped and depleted. emptiness consumes, a soul once vibrant and whole, now echoes of pain. words, like sharp daggers, pierce through my fragile spirit, leaving scars unseen. unseen, yet they sting, a constant reminder of loves bitter demise. fragments of trust lost, shattered like delicate glass, in the wake of lies. used, like a puppet, dancing to another's tune, my soul, empty.

Dear Amber, Wow the imagery of a puppet, "manipulated and tossed," is a raw picture of emotional abuse. Lines like "stripped and depleted" and "emptiness consumes" capture the devastating toll it takes. The pain jumps off the page with the unseen scars they leave. You perfectly describe the fractured trust in the wake of "lies." But through the darkness, I see strength. The poem ends with "my soul, empty," leaving space for a future without that puppet master. Your courage in sharing this painful experience is powerful. Remember, strings do not define your worth. You can find a love that lifts you, not diminishes you. - Blessings, Daniel
