Love Lost
If I had never known you...would I have known sadness?
You came like a warm Summer breeze
and left like a Winter's frost
In between there was Heaven
and in Heaven there was you
passionate, hungry, filled with life
and yet...a loneliness stirred deep inside
that I could not reach
it burned on the farthest hills of your soul
from a time kept secret
that allowed you brief interludes of happiness
before a darkness...beyond my reach
beyond my understanding
and so we parted...like we never were
still, I think of you and wonder
