Love Is and Then Is Not
A look in your eyes caused me to tremble
And shiver alone where only I know
Emotion once seen did not resemble
As the cold in your eyes began to grow
My silent cry faded with yesterday
And gathered among sadness with what's lost
When the eyes once filled with warmth drift away
Nothing will be remembered but the cost
Love is and then is not, without warning
When lifeless eyes looked into coincide
With brief moments of reflective mourning
To know my heart died a little inside
As I gave you my heart so love would live
For my soul you wanted, I could not give
2/7/19 contest I died a little inside
