Love Hurts

I paid the ultimate price for love, I brought my lovely arsonist home! There’s a fire raging in my chest A tornado swirling in my eyes There’s a tremor in my hand My lips going numb… What’s the matter with me? Can someone care to explain? Shouldn’t a heart beat lively with the nourishing love? Why is mine like a stone tossed in the scorching desert heat? Is there a new look on my face? Why is the mirror then surprised to see me now? What kind of a strange station I have come to in my life? On this ash-strewn path there’s nothing but loneliness. ~07/30/17 ~Laura Loo contest
