Eve Roper's Nursery Ryhme 7 Contest 9/10/24

Brennan looks up into the starlit skies The look of amazement in his brown eyes There's a special wish that he is saying He whispers to the stars, "God, I'm praying that people will stop catching lightning bugs. It would be better if they all had hugs." I felt tears running down both of my cheeks when of his love for God's creatures, he speaks. He took the lid off the jar that he'd found and released each one of them, safe and sound. I said, "That's a nice thing you did tonight," He asked, "Are they going to be alright?" I hugged my child, and he smiled up at me. "Yes, Son," I said, "because you set them free."

Another beautifully penned poem, if all children showed the same love for Gods creatures perhaps then there would be more love and empathy towards each other. Danny

Thank you, Tom. It's based on a true story about my grandson, Brennan. I wrote it in case Eve wanted only to have her pictures used for the contest, but she said entries didn't have to be, so I resubmitted my puppy poem. So far it's just drizzling. Tomorrow the winds will increase, sustained around 45 and gusts up to 70... IF it doesn't strengthen. I'll be ok. thanks.
