Lost Me

Will you ever come back to me? Will your walls protect me henceforth? Can I even dream of you in the wakeful hours of night? Can I even store your image in my tearful eyes? Are you just bricks and concrete? Are you not love? Are you just a house for sale? Are you not love? Are you just a big black gate? Are you not love? Are you just a market material? Are you not love? Who if not me, can feel peace under your roof? Who if not me, can love the cracks on your terrace walls? Who if not me, can pamper you with soil and water? Who if not me, can adorn you with plants and bird houses? When you fall into someone's hand, Who will see the midnight stars along with you? Who will play hide and seek behind your pillars? Who will trust and share all their secrets with you? Who will enhance your look with lights and garlands on festivals? You know the answer is "No one" But you didn't speak a word when they came to snatch you from me But why? I wish you had a voice. Funny though, What could I do having a voice!! I let you go I lost you. I lost me.

Hi Swetha, after 43 years we sold our home. A house that saw marriage, birth and death saw happiness and sadness, gave us comfort, security and joy, my secret garden was a joy to walk in, we sold our home because we were in an empty nest situation and bought a far smaller house which we call our little villa. We went back the next day, to collect a few things we didn't want the movers to take and I broke and cried my eyes out for the whole day, so yes I can understand you completely, hugs Jenn

The house we live in for many years becomes part of our existence. We have so many great memories surrounding it. It is not just a roof over our head. When we think of losing our ownership over it, we feel like losing a part of our life itself ! I can very well relate to our feelings, Swetha ! Beautifully composed. Warm Regards....

WoW! Swetha, Your well written write took me down memory lane and caused me to think about my childhood home. I wonder who lives there now? Do they love it as much as I did? Well done. Have a nice day;-) Alexis

When we love as deeply as this, we can hurt just as deep when the love is not returned. Beautifully etched my dear , thank you
