Lost Innocence
A grown up,
Wrapped up in layers
Engulfed in speculations
Packaged in assumptions
Presenting a fabricated image of myself
I wonder why acceptance is not self-evident
In my youth, my complexes were non-existent
I approached others without hesitation
Now, awareness has reached grander proportions
And I’m trapped in my own convictions
I’m burdened by the weight of my knowledge
Innocence is lost
Should I have stayed in a trance of naivete?
I reflect on the possibilities….
