Lost Christmas
Trapped and wrapped into an empty box
Money is tighter then a small belt on a fat man
Joy and happiness has become a, humbug
This Scrooge of Christmas presents, I have become
Laughter and cheer have gone and moved on
Now with families of their own, while I sit all alone
Only memories of Christmas passed, fading away
With time disappearing along with Santa’s Sleigh
Twinkling lights with blown bulbs tangled and twisted
Christmas cookies have become a piece of gum
A once built snowman now lays flat upon the ground
Coal eyes now keep me warm his carrot nose, in a pan
The Christmas that was,
no longer shall be,
all that is left
Is Me
Yet, Thankful I am,
for those lost memories,
without them,
Christmas,
would not be,
inside of me.
