Loss
What is pain?
What is sorrow?
The loss of a life can dim a being's flame.
But it's not only death.
Anything that is perceived as a loss can shroud the heart in darkness.
When the wound of loss is fresh, the abyss of anguish is relentless and persistent.
The despair threatens to swallow the spirit, like a candle deprived of the oxygen it needs to burn.
Eventually the deprivation turns to grief.
It's almost a dull yet numb ache.
A pain that's bearable enough but serves as a constant reminder to what we've lost.
For some who are resilient or for those who are just plain stubborn, no matter how immense the weight of loss may feel, where there is a flame there can be a raging fire.
Even if the kindle of the soul has dimmed, a single ember can Ingnite a new flame.
Do not let the pain and sorrow of loss extinguish your own vitality.
Rather choose to accept what is gone, embrace what was lost, to illuminate your spark and create the brilliant burst of flame once more.
