Losing Signifiance

2009’s overwhelming losses father, career, car and home floating one last time in my pool I prepared to return to the coast memories resurrected tiny beach house loving parents and a neighbor whose story brought tears Annie lived alone died that way too and now I pictured myself in her shoes insignificance of a single life journey that called my name “Disposable Wisdom” was mine to offer now I’d become the subject of a sad poem

A heartfelt write Carolyn, I can relate when my father was going, " But Keith, its hard --- even my friends are gone, all dead..." What could I say? But I lived with him for a time so he wouldn't be alone, my dad fought in a war, but he sure was afraid of being alone. Thanks for sharing Carolyn. God bless

I can totally relate to this sad poem Carolyn. I adopted two older ladies and treated them as a friend and mother. Each lived in a different state and one, her only son died when he was young. The other lady's son just didn't care. Everyone needs someone in their life to share things with and to know that they have someone who cares about them. I have always taught my kids to honor wisdom and so far they have. Conditions.

Connie, I am blessed to have a sister who cares, but wish we were closer in age as she's 11 years older. I can't imagine life without her. Thank you for sharing your experience with the two ladies.

sometimes we reap what we sow, sometimes storms come and destroy what we sow leaving us broken and hungry

As people get older, we sometimes feel invisible, especially if we live alone. Our country doesn't seem to recognize the fact that seniors can still make contributions.

Carolyn, this was truly heartbreaking. We are all special, we all have a purpose and a meaning, even though it may not seem that way at times. Life is filled with stress and loss, that is just how it goes, but there is always something positive for us to find. I am hoping this is just creative and not fact, but if it is...here's hoping you find many reasons to smile today.

Seniors who have no families to care for them feel this way, Chris. Their potential contributions as well as their needs are sometimes not recognized. My former neighbor Annie was the subject of the original write.
