Looney Tune

Max is mad at Molly Samantha’s sore at Seth Freida’s freaking out at Frodo While Hobbits hold their breath Jack jokes about poor Jill She hits him with her pail Humpty cracks open Dumpty For drinking all his ale Mickey Mouse and Minnie They both make quite a scene Playful Pluto gave her paw and stroked her jumping bean Rub is furious with Dub Dub She has another man in his tub His bubble has been bursted So he scrubs Dub with a club Cats in cradles cows and moons Forks running away with spoons Coyote catches the Road Runner In the end we’re all Looney Tunes Nothing makes us happy Sticks and stones me oh my Kryptonic grade destruction Broken Superman can’t fly The Beatles Battled Yoko Ono Because she broke up the band They sang ‘Give Peace a Chance” a dream they didn’t understand So I walk down to the River John the Baptist please begin Separate me from human nature Cause I’m tired of our sin

Sometimes, it definitely seems like the world is Loony Tunes. This poem is fun with a very important message. Love it!

Wow and lol and then wow and then lol. I feel like ping pong poetry reader, but this is good; even great. I hope you don't mind Richard, I am reading your poems by the titles. If, for me it strikes a chord, then I play it. I love this poem having grown up on Looney Tunes and amazing orchestral music. Thanks Richard.

I really love this, you must know you are one of the best. I try, sometimes pretty good, but takes me a lot of time. This is one more really good poetry and fun. Do you publish? Will be out of it for a bit but will enjoy coming back in a week.

Delightful … ly cruel cartoons a reflection of equally foppish, vicious human nature. Last stanza sums it all up (correctly). Excellent, Richard! A real winner. Best wishes, Gershon

Richard, I am rereading this one. Can't seem to find one I have not read already. I left a short reply to a reply of yours on another poem that I wish had won the contest it was entered in. If this was for a contest, I sure think it should have won!

Hi Richard, the word has indeed went looney tunes. I think some people have always been looney tunes. You just have to look at some of the world leaders. In the end all we shall have is Faith in ourselves and our friends. Love the content. This is an excellent piece. If i am off the mark Richard, you know how it is, we all look at a poem differently. This, has to be a fave. I can look at this poem in a few different ways and it works for each one. Your friend always....Mike.

Interesting piece. You surely had those toons doing the unthinkable. I didn't expect the serious ending. It caught me off guard. However, what other ending is there for the mess we are in? Hugs

I sometimes wonder if we did the right thing letting our kids watch those cartoons, the Road Runner certainly seemed a bit disconcerting.Did we set a negative pattern? This is a kind of a malady of the modern world, unfortunately. Toddlers are generally engrossed by television cartoons, some of which do carry disturbing humor and violent action’s and messages. Your poem magnificently highlights the adverse mental programming that us humans are subliminally subjected to. A fave for me Rick, Bravo....Maria hugs

Personally I don’t think it did me any harm watching them. I feel much worse for what kids are watching today. Hugs Rick

Richard, a very clever write indeed. Filled with wit and wisdom. There is a bit of humor in your truth, but also sadness abides. You effectively capture both. Your pen, once again, does not disappoint!

An incredible provocative write Richard. Seeking peace in our chaotic world indeed takes us back to the nursery rhymes we learned as children. When research is done one comes to realize that many came from sorrows of the times....like Ring around the rosey. Excellent my friend! : ) xxoo

Cartoons have been dealing with every day life issues in a humourous and satirical way! It seems exaggerated or caricatured but it is actually a real rendition of our very life.. A profound fun, a joy to read. Thank you for sharing Richard. Stay safe and blessed.
