Look Into My Heart
Lord look into my heart,
You know I speak the truth.
And that I am sorry,
for the sins of my youth.
Defying my ego,
I get down on my knees.
And with humility,
I ask a favor, please.
Forgive this impudent
and doubting heart of mine.
And in Jesus's name, I
beg You, send me a sign.
I kneel here unabashed,
miserable and scared.
For I'm afraid that You're
but a myth hearts have shared.
I'm a doubting Thomas,
but I want to believe.
For that would mean my soul
will join You when I leave.
