Look At Her Smile

` Ah, all I long to do is know her Ah, all I long to do is show her Look at her frowning Seeing the sadness now found in the tears in her eyes Silent her sighs Why is she waiting Here on the steps that are worn from the worry she bears Lost in her stares Life is very lonely She hasn’t much to say Life is very lonely She longs to get away Where is she looking Off to a place that is empty of something to hold No one is told What is she thinking Tossing some crumbs to the birds scattered out on the street Something to eat Life is very lonely I ask her to explain Life is very lonely She can’t get past the pain Ah, all I long to do is help her Ah, all I long to do is hold her Eleanor Rigby Gives me her hand as I lead her to someplace she knows Happiness grows Look at her smile All that she needed was someone to show her the way It’s a new day She’s no longer lonely Her heart it has been spared She’s no longer lonely She’s found someone who cared Written for the: Eleanor Rigby Who was she Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Jerry T. Thanks my friend. I thought I answered this but I guess I didn't. The site only let's me do two at a time and sometimes I forget and reply to a third one and it doesn't take.

Nice write Chris, I could read it with the melody in my head, I know the Beatles had their impact on you, as well as almost all songwriters today. Hey did you hear Paul is doing a book signing in Liverpool, so great that he hasn't lost the human touch after so much success!

Thanks John, yes they did, a big impact. That is what made writing this poetic lyric to their melody so much fun. I did not hear that but you are right, it is nice that he hasn't lost touch with what helped get him where he is. Thanks again my friend.

Yes, so lovely to have your input again. How clever to set such meaningful words to the exact melody of the original, keeping the main theme of her loneliness but ending in contrast on such a positive note. I really enjoyed singing along to your lyrics,Chris.
