Longing
Longing...
Each night as I lay down in bed
in the still darkness engulfing me,
listening to snippets of conversations,
I feel the soft whispers of love
entering my empty dreams.
A tear drop forces its way out,
right down my cold cheeks,
followed by another, then another...
I'm unable to brush the burning yearning away...
