Lonely Tanka

randomly opened
by a gust of wind
the newspaper
like a neglected child
seeks attention

You may not want to read the news of late. We need things to get better. I love the anticipation of this poem. Makes me what to "know"... Ann

Thank you, Andrea. I believe that haiku/senryu and tanka are free spirits that must not be reined in. Thank you for coming back again ~ Regards // paul

Hello Paul - Hi. Isn't the truth - the ruffled paper and children needing attention. You gave a wonderful analogy of both sides. Thank you for sharing your talent. May this day find you well. Take Care and keep enjoying poetrysoup. (smile)

I like this one. Robert Frost wrote a poem about a newspaper in the snow. I always liked that poem. Thanks for dropping by with congrats. My mother-in-law used to say growing old is not so bad. I'm having the best time I ever had. She was doing nothing. LOL..Sara

Wind gusts is what we're having here Paul I'm straining...But I just don't get the fine print On your copy anyways.' Maybe it's too rumpled I find that does effect clarity.' Randomly opened And neglected..' Just about says it all that.' Well done here got me thinking
