Growing old without you sounds so scary;
that I cannot rid my mind of that thought.
For it's almost too much pain to carry;
knowing that you won’t win, although you fought.
Your passing was all I had on my mind;
my only focus was comforting you.
Now, having lost my guiding light, I'm blind;
and thus, I do not know what I will do.
I cannot fathom living without you;
although I know it is what you would want.
And so, that is what I must try to do;
though, thoughts of joining you, still subtly taunt.
Losing half a soul is so traumatic;
all daily tasks switch to automatic.
