Buenos dias Alkas. Como estas? I rarely get comments on anything I've written here; so when I saw that I had a comment, I immediately read it. It was from you Alkas commenting on my last PoetrySoup submission, which certainly wasn't a poem jajaja. You had commented on that submission before SO I font know if you'll go back to see my reply. It was this: Alkas jajaja MUCHAS GRACIAS for this. It warms my heart; but, dime? you aren't leaving the soup kitchen? Are you?...

Alkas? Have I offended you? You never answered my reply or reply to my comments on other poems of yours? The point about language I was trying to make is that Joyce's book was banned in his own country by people I know in no way could have read his book. Japanese haiku are not in 5 7 5 sylabbic form. Oriental languages are monosyllabic. No particular structure need be applied. I was just asking you if you found it harder to write poems in English? Since I think Español is equally as beautiful. .

I totally agree. That's the magic that poets have, but I've also noted writers who, though using the novel form, go out right poetic. Marquez "Autumn of the Patriarc" is masterfully poetic WOW!!!

No Jeff, you didn't offend me, I just made a mistake and commented on the wrong poem, I confused the titles, I didn't feel offended at all /// As for the English language, I have studied it since forever, but I don't have the source of a native, but I read and compare a lot the writings of the masters and in poetry Unlike prose, poets can present words that were not known until now and recreate another universe with the poetic license that we have... alkas

Thanks for a lesson in poetics Alkas. I'm happy about your dedication to your craft. My comment was due to the discovery that PoetrySoup, though international, only excepts submissions in English. Disappointing. No writer, should have to bow to any particular format to appease an audience. Try reading James Joyce's Finnigans Wake... Have you ever read any of my stuff submitted here?...

This is a nice one Alkas. Very poetically tight. It must be hard to write your brilliant thoughts in Ingles? Thanks Alkas...

dEAR jEFF READ...!Poetry will also teach you the art of word choice. Poems are very different from prose (as language is normally written). Poets must convey a powerful message within a small amount of space. Because of this, poets are very careful about the words they select. I create poetry with inspiration and hard work... sAUDE ALWAYS ALKAS
