Little White Dress
I cannot say that I have had the urge
To don a dress of white and raise a sign
Of protest, asking action to emerge
When leaders meet on climate change and dine.
I do not have the legs for such a thing
And I am loathe to shave my hairy chest
Simply to join the “Happy Summit” sing
In garb Miss Marilyn Monroe wore best.
Though you may not agree, it seems a drag
Upon the message they deliver to
The group, and more a silly stunt or gag
Than an effective means to change their view.
But truth be told, it’s anybody’s guess:
I might look simply smashing in that dress!
