Little Sister
None of this will make any sense to you now
But one day you’ll see
You’re restoring my soul
I’ve seen you grow up
I was in the waiting room when you were born
I helped you with your first words
I wish you could stay five forever
The way you hug me when I’m down
Asking me to carry you when you’re too tired to walk
I see you staring at people during church
Forming impressions of the outside world
Not giving a damned what these people think
Showing me what it’s like to be young again
And stop taking this life so seriously
I may be experiencing a prolonged adolescence
Yet I’m loving every minute of it.
