Little Bird
Pretty bird,
in the cage,
I feed you every day.
I put water in the dish.
You bite.
Pretty bird,
in the cage,
I put water in the dish,
I pay attention,
and speak with you
often.
You bite.
Pretty bird,
in the cage,
I pay and pay,
You will not listen,
I sing you songs,
and bring you toys,
daily.
You bite.
Pretty bird,
in the cage,
I went to the store,
and there was a kitten.
“Free” in a box.
I brought him home.
You bit.
Pretty bird,
in the cage,
I fed the cat today.
He purred.
