Listen For the Buts

I think successful people listen for the buts, To avoid budget cuts, Job cuts, And getting stuck in ruts. If we ignore too many buts, We could be considered nuts, For making the wrong cuts, To get people out of ruts. The buts tell us who is in ruts, And there may be some crap that needs cuts, To get them out of those ruts, Before they end up nuts. Those who listen for the buts, Make fewer mistakes in their cuts, And don't spend time pulling others out of ruts, Which reduces the chances of them going nuts.
