If He says “No”
It pays to listen
When He says “You can’t”
Is when you need to hear
Obey Him while you can
He is the light of grace
His heart reflects the kindness
That should bind us to Him
If He says “Not now”
It is necessary to hear Him
He doesn’t speak to turn you down
He speaks to show you – not just good
But the best, better than the rest
The way, the truth, the life
The wonder of having Him by your side
Residing where you can always know
He is there, in the heart, and you
Only need to whisper a prayer
For Him to come to your aid, easing
Every sorrow, worry or fear
Reassuring you that He is always here
If He says “Wait”
Now is not the time
But don’t give up on your dreams
He may say yes someday
He might allow you to grow
To learn what is best
To find the way toward light
And bath in its glow
Before He gives you the “Yes”
That you are hoping for
If He says “Yes”
You know that it is good
He blesses your choice
With assurance that He is there
Alive in the dream, the prayer
Giving you His permission
His approval, the opportunity to
Grow in your heart and soul
The chance to give back to others
Hope that when they pray
He may say “Yes” to their plans
Listen to Him
Whatever He says
Listen to Him
For He is filled with grace
He answers every prayer
And He is faithful to the heart
Who longs to give Him the best
And always listens to His response
He hears the one who knows
His love is an open door to the soul
And all we need to do is pray
His reply will be the best we can know
And it will always provide us sincere
Overflowing love from His spirit
