Liminal-for Michelle
Liminal-for Michelle
The tide would turn soon.
A liminal moment between coming in, going out.
I wanted to be with it.
The moon full, the bay awash with its light.
Walking in semi-lightness to the west end of town.
Buoy bells, fog horns, gulls, the sea lapping at the shore.
How blessed to have this time?
The instant between breathing in and breathing out,
To be with the sea’s eternal rhythm.
Climber on the rocks finding a quiet place
To listen, feel, and sense
The incoming tide become outgoing.
Unchanged in this moment, the moon
Shone upon this as it had many times.
I was there, witness to their celebration.
